Maui Sands Resort is one of the first resorts built on the west side of Maui. At that time, there were no required setbacks which makes these condos locations very desirable! The ocean front units are less than 15 feet from the ocean and even the garden view units are less than 200 steps away!   This low-density property of 52 condos sits on over 4 acres of a beautiful mature tropical park-like setting. There are 6 two story buildings that are situated around a traditional Hawaiian courtyard. On the grounds, the large sparkling pool features a cabana and BBQ with ample seating for a poolside picnic! Additional BBQ’s are also located on the grounds. The entry to the shore from the steps is centered mid-property and offers a wonderful common area to catch some sun above the shore with a magnificent view of the island of Molokai across the channel. There are three volcanic reefs that run parallel to the shoreline. During low tide, the inner area, between the seawall and the first reef is perfectly protected for keiki (children) to play in the water and build sand castles.  We love watching the whales from here the season and turtles all year round. Maui boasts a whale season from mid November to mid April every year because even the whales go to Maui for the winter!

In the heart of Honokowai, Maui Sands is close to delicious take-out and dine-in restaurants, as well as shopping, grocery stores, and the award-winning Farmer’s Market. A short 3 minute walk to the north brings you to Honokowai Beach Park, with a playground, and a sandy stretch of beach. To the south is the Honolua Kai Park and a fabulous beach walk going all the way to Whalers Village and Black Rock.
